A heroic school security guard saved a teen after he intervened to stop a gang of machete-wielding thugs from beating him outside a school. Distressing footage of the incident, which was captured and posted online, shows a group of nine young men, including one armed with a massive machete, kicking and hitting a boy in school uniform on the ground.
Young pupils and their parents can be seen crying and screaming in the background as they watched the brutal attack unfold outside the West Walsall E-ACT Academy in Staffordshire. During the clip, a boy in school uniform can be seen desperately attempting to flee his attackers before he falls in the grass and is surrounded by the mob who begin to viciously attack him.
One teen in a grey hoodie can even be seen slashing the boy with a huge machete as bystanders look on in horror. Thankfully, the boy is saved by a heroic security guard who rushes into the melee and throws himself on top of the victim, shielding him from further harm as he attempts to apprehend the attackers.
Following a brief scuffle the gang then flees the scene as the man, dressed in a yellow hi-vis vest, is joined by another colleague who arrives to break up the trouble. One of the thugs can be seen giving a middle finger to the person filming the attack, while the machete-wielding teen attempted to sheathe his machete as he tried to get away.
The victim ended up suffering from a stab wound in the leg, but was saved from further injuries by the heroic security guard. ‘If he hadn’t jumped in so quickly, God knows what would have happened,’ a witness said.
‘It could have easily been a tragedy.’
Following news of the incident, which occured on October 3, the school said they ‘are in close contact with the police to support them on their investigation.’ A spokesperson for the school told the Express and Star: ‘We can confirm that there was an incident outside of school earlier this week in which a member of our school community was injured. The matter is now a formal police investigation and so we are not in a position to provide any further detail. We are in close contact with the police to support them on their investigation.
‘We work hard to create a safe, calm and welcoming environment for all our students at West Walsall Academy and are supporting the students who have been impacted by this incident.’ West Midlands Police said: ‘We’re aware of a video circulating on social media of an attack by a school. ‘This footage was already in our possession and is believed to be linked to an incident reported on October 3 that’s already being investigated.
‘The incident involved a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed in the leg by West Walsall E Act Academy. ‘We’ve arrested three teenage boys, all aged 14, in connection with the incident. They have been bailed with conditions. ‘If you have footage please do not share it, but pass it onto us.
‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the others involved and anyone with information is asked to get in touch.’
